Maxwells Shipping and Collection Policies
Maxwells assists buyers in collecting lots obtained during online bidding but does not provide an automatic packing and posting service, this needs to be requested separately.
Shipping will commence a week after the sale.
If you require your items by a specific date or on an urgent basis and you cannot collect in person, we recommend arranging delivery through one of our approved courier partners (see below).
Shipping Quotations & Responsibilities:
A shipping quotation can be requested upon receipt of your invoice. While we endeavour to address any shipping quote requests promptly, responses may take up to one week following the conclusion of the sale.
Maxwells will pack items to the best of their ability, but they are not professional packers. All packing and postage is at the buyer's risk.
Maxwells is not liable for transit damage. Insurance, if desired, is the buyer's responsibility.
Exclusions and points to note:
Items not shipped:
Fragile items (e.g., glassware, pictures, ceramics)
Knives/bladed items, firearms
Large or multi-piece purchases (e.g. complete dinner services, large book collections, heavy equipment etc)
Any items prohibited by Royal Mail
International shipping requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are limited to items that can be accommodated within jiffy bag size
Maxwells reserve the right to refuse postage of any items we deem inappropriate.
Charges for Shipping:
Pricing varies by item nature, weight, and packing complexity. Jiffy bag shipping starts at £20; box shipping from £25.
Collection:
Buyers may collect their items from our saleroom by prior appointment. This is to ensure an efficient service and avoid delays. Please contact us to schedule a suitable collection time.
