Max Blackmore has 40 years experience in the auction business and is a qualified Chartered Antiques and Arts Surveyor. After working in London and Yorkshire, he moved to Cheshire in 1982, establishing his own company in Wilmslow, holding regular auctions at the local rugby club. The auctions here have proved very popular and successful with a rapidly increasing online audience..
Tom Blackmore joined his father in the firm 6 years ago. He is the saleroom manager, auctioneer and oversees incoming lots and photography.
Maxwells took the opportunity of acquiring their own permanent saleroom in Levens Road, Hazel Grove some 15 years ago which provides a more efficient service to both vendors and buyers alike . The saleroom is easily accessible from all areas – it is close to motorway -M60 & M56 – and rail networks and has a good car park.
Maxwells are a local family firm and are able to tailor their service to meet their clients’ requirements. They are helped by an excellent team of friendly staff. If you have never been to an auction before or are not sure what is involved entering items into an auction, they will be pleased to help and offer guidance.
All sales have the illustrated catalogues on this site and on www.easyliveauction.com and www.the-saleroom.com. Live bidding is also available on both of these sites. Check their websites for details of their charges.
Maxwells are regular hosts of ‘David Dickinson’s Real Deal’ TV programme and also ‘Celebrity Antiques Road Trip’ and now 'Bargain Hunt'.
