Not sure how a timed auction works? Let us explain...
At Maxwells, we run timed auctions on easyLiveAuction.com from time to time.
- What is a Timed Auction?
Unlike a traditional live auction, there’s no auctioneer and no need to be online at a specific time. Instead, each item is open for bidding over a set period - in our case a week. You can place your bid at any time while the auction is live.
How It Works
-
Each lot has a countdown timer.
-
You simply click to place your maximum bid.
-
If someone outbids you, you’ll get a notification and can choose to bid again.
- When the timer runs out, the highest bidder wins!
Top Tip: Some auctions use an auto-extend feature. If someone places a bid in the final moments, the timer will extend slightly - giving everyone a fair chance to respond.
In order to participate, you'll need to register or sign in on our website, register for the relevant sale using a debit card, then view the catalogue and enter your maximum bids.
Your max bid is the highest amount you’re willing to pay for a lot, but you won’t necessarily pay that full amount. Instead, the system will automatically bid on your behalf - just enough to keep you in the lead.
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask - we're just an email or a phonecall away.
