COVID 19 UPDATE

Posted On: 12 May 2020 by Charlotte Blackmore

Good Morning from everyone at Maxwells !! We hope everyone is staying safe and well. We want to reassure everyone that we are still here and are determined to come back to work as soon as possible. Following the Boris Johnson's update on Sunday we want to try to clarify our position. As things stand the Auction Rooms remains CLOSED to the public. This is the advice for all auction rooms. We are continuing to provide a telephone service by answerphone - messages are picked up at least once a day - 0161 439 5182 Unfortunately we are still no clearer as to when we will be able to open Auction Rooms. We are classed within the retail classification and as it stands, the rules from government have not changed and all our routine autions have to be postponed until it is safe to reopen. We do not think at this stage a virtual online auction would be the way to go as there are just too many lots that need collecting rather than posting. We are reviewing the situation daily so keep checking with us. If you do need a valuation for Inheritance Tax or need some advice on goods you may wish to sell in due course - send an email or leave a message and max can have a chat with you. It may be possible to make some arrangements with email images and / or within the government restrictions to assist
