A late 19th/early 20th century Japanese pair of cloisonné vases of compressed onion form with tall slender necks, simulated and applied bamboo bands, allover finely detailed decoration of flower heads against a translucent ruby ground, the neck with lappets of dragons and ho-ho, height 31 cm (one with 3 star cracks to glaze of body)
1 vase: handle detached 5 star cracks (not dented in enamel to body) 1 Vase: 1 crack in enamel to body (not dented) loss of enamel to base of one handle otherwise in good condition
